Fenrir
The Fenris Wolf · The Open Jaws
majorattestedc. 1270 CE (Codex Regius)Norse mythology
The great wolf, son of Loki, raised among the gods who feared him too much to kill him and too much to free him. Bound by the ribbon Gleipnir — made of six impossible things — at the price of the god Týr’s sworn right hand. At Ragnarök the fetter breaks, his jaws scrape heaven and earth, and he swallows the Allfather whole.
