Michael

Mika’il · The Prince of the Host

majorattestedScripturalJudaismChristianityIslam

The archangel who leads the armies of heaven — "Who is like God?", which is what his name asks and what the rebels denied. In the Book of Revelation it is Michael and his angels who make war on the dragon and cast him down to earth; in Daniel he is the great prince who stands guard over the faithful; in Islam he is Mika’il. Wherever the Adversary is thrown down, it is Michael’s hand that throws him.
